tableaus of human encounters, where memories are mixed with longing for those that have yet to be realized. slowly, the movement washes over our characters, forming a pattern of which they are unaware – they are all linked. the rain touches them all.
i was surfing the channels on tv the other day and happened to catch swedish choreographer pontus lidberg’s half-hour film entitled “the rain“. it’s like a modern, fantastically delicate remix of gene kelly’s singin’ in the rain sequence, only shot entirely in and around stockholm…

what i found especially neat (in addition to the beautiful choreography, of course) was the text in the film – drops of rain would hit the words at random spots and ‘blur’ them – i love these little details! unfortunately the film is not anywhere to be found online, but there is a short clip available on lidberg’s website.
will hopefully update in a bit :)
i’m so jealous that you’re going to new york! i miss it.

Oh! this could be interesting to you: there´s a way to hide the site meter logo (without upgrade). put it as numbers and then choose the color trasparent! :D

What a beautiful trailer, so wish I could have seen the film. Better still, danced in the rain. On my list of things to do.
